Everything You Need To Know About Google Algorithm

Many people don’t know that Google is a search engine and there are many search engines like Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Baidu, etc. that are used all over the world to get an answer to a query. Whenever there is something that is not known, people simply say, “Google it!”

That’s the kind of reputation and brand Google has created in people’s minds. And this is because of some genuine reasons.

Let’s go back to its history to understand its evolution.

Google was founded by Sergey Brin and Larry Page in their Ph.D. days which later on became one of the most popular web-based search engines in the world. The duo created an algorithm to search query which turned out a successful effort and the company decided to grow its business. As the process developed, Google invented its other products like Google Drive, Google Maps, Google+, Gmail, etc for different purposes.

Throughout all this Journey, Google has one honest purpose of making the user experience good by providing quality service. During the period many updates came but this has never made any compromise on giving relevant and most accurate results.

To do this, Google follows some rules and regulations called algorithms. Let’s try to understand what are types of Google Algorithms are, what do they say, and how they matter in terms of Search Engine Result Pages (SERP).

1) Panda Algorithm:

Google has developed this algorithm to provide the most accurate result to the user’s query. This basically deals with the Quality Content of a web page. So what does it say?

>> Your content should be unique.

>> There should be no copy-paste i.e. duplicate content.

>> Keyword density should be 2-3% i.e. behind every 100 words of content, there should be 2-3 focus keywords.

>>There are chances of getting a penalty if found copied content.

As a result of this, your content will be visible on the 1st-page result if you are following these rules.

2)Penguin Algorithm:

This algorithm says it put sites away from the ranking that does not follow Webmaster guidelines. It’s all related to Quality Backlinks that website owners create. So websites have to create relevant backlinks to get space on search results.

>> No use of black hat techniques

>> Take out paid links

>> Take out irrelevant links

>> Take out spammy links

3) Pigeon Algorithm:

As the name says, it is more accurate and precise results. This algorithm deals with local search results. Nowadays, we are listening to answer the local product or service businesses so that Google can optimize it better for local people. That is all about Pigeon Algorithm.

4) Hummingbird Algorithm:

This is to give fast as well as accurate results to a search query to make the user experience great. To understand this, search a query like, “temperature in India”. What answer Google gives on top is a result of the Hummingbird Algorithm. This algorithm is created to improve indexed information and to boost semantic results.
